One Cool Teacher!

To say Lauren was excited to have her initials shaved in her teachers hair is an understatement!!! Mr. Stanners is a brave man and a great teacher!! What a great way to motivate the kids.

Yahoo Lauren

Lauren reached a major reading goal in her class!!
As a reward her teacher is shaving her's and another classmates initials into his hair!!! Of course she thinks this is "way cool" and her teacher is just the BEST... I am going to see if I can get a picture of poor Mr. Stanners hair and if I can I will make sure it is posted!
How come my teachers never did anything like that for me?

More Hidden Mickeys

This Mickey is hidden in the tree on a mural in the hotel
On the deck of a model boat

In the tree on a hanging tapestry
This is a side profile of Mickey!
In the logo of a store!
Tower of terror lobby!

The kids are having a blast trying to find hidden Mickeys. Every time we go, we look out for them. We found a bunch this time. Some we couldn't take pictures of because you can't take pictures on some rides, and others are just moving so fast you can't catch them. We do have the hidden Mickey book which helps us out alot. These are just a few of them we found this week.
I know, I know, it's kooky but fun!

The Three Day Get Away!

Lobby of the California Grand Hotel

Playing in the arcade!
Minnie Mouse
Goofy's Friends
The Birthday Girls!

We have always wanted to go to the California Grand Hotel at Disneyland and decided that to celebrate mine and Mom's birthdays would be a great time to do it. We really had a great time. Mom, Me and the Kids went down on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and Robert came down on Thursday. It was so much fun to be able to go shopping, eat swim, and park hop without feeling like you had to do it all in one day. You can exit to California Adventure or Downtown Disney right from the hotel lobby. We got to sit in the front and drive the monorail back to the hotel one night and you should have seen the grin on Andrews face!!! The kids had a blast and on Thursday Pat came down with her kids Lauren and Brent, so we went to Disney for a while and then spent the afternoon swimming. We all enjoyed it so much I put it on my calendar to schedule again for next year!

Bottoms Up
10 years ago we were living in Texas, I was 1 month pregnant with Andrew and Lauren was just learning how to walk. Uncle Tony was visiting from the UK, and I remember watching the New York Times square celebration in our upstairs bonus room trying to stay awake. A decade older and a life time wiser!! Now Andrew is in third grade, riding skateboards and being all boy and Lauren just lost her last baby tooth today. (Insert sad face here.)
The kids stayed awake on their own last night to watch the New York Times square ball drop, at midnight they started yelling so Robert went down stairs to get them to bed. We had a bbq with Donna, Mike, Lance and Michelle today. We bbq'd two tri-tips, had garlic mashed potatoes and vegis with all kinds of great junk food and drinks. The spa was on for the kids and they stayed in it all day and were even brave enough to get in the pool. They played splash ball and had a water gun fight. We finished off the day with some Wii rock band and an all out nerf war. Fun times!
Bring on the next decade.
